  1. David, I just posted a link to your post on Cucumber Alley on the “Schenectady History” site. It seems to have generated some controversy over the picture of a spiny cucumber which someone suggests isn’t a cucumber but rather than a poisonous plant. Can you take a look, please?

    • Thanks for the interest. To me, it does not matter whether it is “really” a cucumber (USDA calls it a “wild cucumber”). The point is that the lane/trail was called Cucumber Alley for hundreds of years because people who used it called them wild cucumbers. That is all the debate I am willing to muster. Be well.
