Stockade scenes a year after Irene

– the River end of Washington Ave., then (R) and now (L) –

The current Times Union’s feature “Irene photos: then and now”, moved me to put together representative images of flooding in and near the Stockade that I took last year with photos taken of the same scenes over the past few days.  The results are in the Slideshow below.  Each photo collage is also found in the gallery under the slideshow; click on the gallery image for a larger version and roll over it for a description.

– Riverside Park playlot  (R: Sept. 9, 2011 T.S. Lee flooding)-

The pretty pictures cannot erase the turmoil that Irene and Lee caused for many of my Stockade neighbors and people throughout this region and the Northeast. I hope peace and stability have returned to their worlds.  For more photos of Stockade flooding after Irene, see our coverage here and follow the links to other postings.
